BBC News School Report

The students had a great time! Our young people all really engaged with the process of making news. They managed to produce a range of stories from human interest pieces, sports and technology news to some discursive features focussed on school life. The students worked in both digital copy and TV news and were responsible for everything from writing their own copy and scripts to shooting and directing their film, sourcing pictures, sub-editing, film editing and even uploading their work to the BBC Bella website.

Six of our students also had a tour of BBC Scotland HQ at Pacific Quay and even had the opportunity to interview veteran BBC reporter Sally McNair. Our contact at the BBC has emailed to say how impressed they were with our students' maturity and engagement at BBC HQ, adding that they were 'great ambassadors for the school'.

The stories from our news day in the library are now live on the school's BBC News School Report website at feel free to have a wee browse!
